'Love for Baby Sydni' benefits 5-month-old with rare illness

Ooklah The Moc performs at "Love for Baby Sydni," a benefit for an ailing infant, from 9 tonight at the Mai Tai Bar at Ala Moana Center.
Sydni is the 5-month-old daughter of Jiya, the Mai Tai Bar's assistant manager. The tot has been diagnosed with a rare but treatable blood disease, so she faces regular chemotherapy in the next year.
The staff will donate all tips to Sydni, and additional donations will be accepted at the door. Information: 947-2900.

'WHEEL' FANS WELCOME
Islanders have an opportunity to be in the audience when "Wheel of Fortune," America's No. 1 game show, kicks off its 26th season with a four-week taping session beginning Sept. 12 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort on the Big Island. Show host Pat Sajak and letter-turner Vanna White, plus the entire Los Angeles-based crew, will set up shop and tape 20 shows at the resort's Ocean Terrace. Now through Aug. 8, "Wheel of Fortune" viewers and fans can apply for free tickets to view the tapings at www.khon2.com.
