7 repeaters among 24 Honolulu DUI arrests

Seven repeat offenders were among 24 people charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant from 10 o'clock last night through 6 a.m. today as police continued stepped up islandwide enforcement to take suspected drunken drivers off Honolulu's roadways during the "101 deadliest days of summer" national campaign from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Charged as repeat offenders were Roger A. Young, 49, of Kapunahala; Ralph Fine, 30, of Waipahu; David Lawrence Milne, 50, of Kalihi; Anthony G. Kasparec, 22, of Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kane'ohe; David Alan Papst, 24, of He'eia; Coedy Masei K. Kaneshiro, 26, of Hawai'i Kai; and Cyrus Ladore, 33, of a Kapi'olani Boulevard address.
Young, Fine and Kaneshiro were charged with other offenses in addition to OVUII.
Young and Kaneshiro were driving while their licenses are suspended from a previous DUI conviction, according to police booking information, while Fine is accused of reckless driving and refusing an order to stop. Kaneshiro also has an outstanding $1,000 warrant.
Bail for repeat OVUII offenders is $1,000 and $500 for first-time arrests.
Ten of those charged posted bail. Those unable to post bails will be taken to District Court for initial appearances tomorrow.
In addition to the OVUII arrests, police charged four men arrested between 9:25 last night and 1:30 a.m. today for drinking in public at Ala Moana Park, Kalihi and Waikiki, and a woman, 31, with driving without a license with an open container of liquor today at 10:35 a.m. in Nanakuli.
