LONG BEACH — Kyle Blair struck out nine and Logan Gelbrich homered to lead San Diego to a 15-1 victory over Fresno State yesterday at the Long Beach regional.

The Toreros (44-16) scored four runs in the second inning, highlighted by Gelbrich's two-run blast, and added three more in the fifth to blow the game open.

San Diego's victory forces a final game tonight against Fresno State (39-28) with the winner advancing to the Super Regionals starting Friday.

Earlier yesterday, San Diego eliminated Long Beach State, the region's No. 1 seed, 5-1.

Blair (8-4) pitched seven innings, allowing four hits and one run. Justin Miller (6-3) lasted only 2 2/3 innings, gave up six runs and took the loss.

Four Bulldogs' pitchers gave up 13 hits and 11 walks.

San Diego's first three hitters, Kevin Muno, Josh Romanski and Sean Nicol, combined for six hits, scored eight runs and reached base 16 times in 18 plate appearances.

San Diego 5, Long Beach State 1: Ricardo Pecina limited No. 1 seed Long Beach State (38-21) to one run over seven innings and the Toreros pounded out 13 hits to eliminate the Dirtbags.

CORAL GABLES REGIONAL

At Coral Gables, Fla.

Miami 11, Mississippi 2: Ryan Jackson and Dennis Raben each homered and the Hurricanes beat the Rebels (39-26) to advance to the super regionals. Next up for Miami (50-8) is Arizona, which won the Ann Arbor regional.

Mississippi 9, Missouri 6: Logan Power hit a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth inning to lead the Rebels over the Tigers (39-22).

LINCOLN REGIONAL

At Lincoln, Neb.

UC Irvine 8, Oral Roberts 0: Bryce Stowell (8-2) struck out a career-high 13 in 7 2/3 shutout innings and Sean Madigan drove in five runs to key the Anteaters' title-clinching win over the Golden Eagles (48-14) in the Lincoln Regional. The Anteaters (41-16) will play Baton Rouge Regional champion LSU for a chance to go to the College World Series for the second straight year.

Oral Roberts 8, Nebraska 0: Kelly Minissale allowed two hits over eight-plus innings and Michael Notaro slugged a three-run homer to help the Golden Eagles eliminate the top-seeded Cornhuskers (41-16-1).

ANN ARBOR REGIONAL

At Ann Arbor, Mich.

Arizona 5, Kentucky 3: Eric Berger matched his career-best 11 strikeouts and Bobby Coyle added a pinch-hit homer to help the Wildcats take the Ann Arbor regional championship over Kentucky (44-19). Arizona (41-17) will play Miami on Friday or Saturday in a best-of-three super-regional playoff.

Kentucky 12, Michigan 6: Troy Frazier hit a two-run homer during a seven-run first inning and the Wildcats eliminated the host Wolverines (46-15).

TALLAHASSE REGIONAL

At Tallahasse, Fla.

Florida State 17, Tulane 8: Buster Posey hit two home runs as the Seminoles beat the Green Wave (39-21-1) to set up a rematch for the Tallahassee regional title. Posey hit a three-run homer during a five-run fifth inning as the Seminoles (51-11) opened a 10-4 lead. His solo homer in the fourth broke a 4-4 tie.

Florida State 24, Bucknell 9: Buster Posey hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam in the third inning, to lead the Seminoles to a rout of the Bison (30-24-2).

RALEIGH REGIONAL

At Raleigh, N.C.

N.C. State 2, South Carolina 1: Matt Payne's run-scoring infield single in the seventh inning lifted the Wolfpack over the Gamecocks (40-23) in the Raleigh regional championship. The Wolfpack (41-20) advance to face the champion of the regional in Athens, Ga. — either Georgia or Georgia Tech — in the best-of-three super regional series.

South Carolina 7, James Madison 5: Reese Havens' two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning helped the Gamecocks eliminate the Dukes (39-20).

CONWAY REGIONAL

At Conway, S.C.

Coastal Carolina 24, East Carolina 11: Coastal Carolina scored 13 runs in the second inning and overwhelmed the Pirates (42-21) to win the Conway regional. The Chanticleers (50-12) earned the school's first berth to the super regionals and will travel to North Carolina for the best-of-three series.

East Carolina 16, Alabama 1: East Carolina starting pitcher Justin Bristow allowed one run over seven innings to lead the Pirates past the Crimson Tide (35-28) in an elimination game.

CARY REGIONAL

At Cary, N.C.

North Carolina 7, UNC Wilmington 3: Mark Fleury's three-run homer capped a five-run fifth inning and helped the Tar Heels beat the Seahawks (44-17-1) to win the Cary Regional championship. The top-seeded Tar Heels (49-12) will face Conway, S.C., regional champ Coastal Carolina at USA Baseball's national training complex in suburban Raleigh.

UNC Wilmington 15, Elon 11: Shane French's bases-loaded double highlighted an 11-run ninth inning that helped Seahawks rally from a seven-run deficit over the Phoenix (44-18).

BATON ROUGE REGIONAL

At Baton Rouge, La.

LSU 11, Southern Miss 4: Michael Hollander had four hits and drove in four runs, helping the Tigers (46-16-1) beat the Bulldogs (42-22) to win the Baton Rouge regional — and the Tigers' 23rd straight game. Leon Landry smacked a two-run homer in the second inning and Blake Dean broke the game open with a bases-loaded triple in the bottom of the sixth, capping a six-run rally that also included Hollander's two-run single.

Southern Miss 8, New Orleans 2: Keith Winstead hit a disputed three-run homer and a solo shot that no one questioned, helping the Bulldogs eliminate the Privateers (43-21).

STILLWATER REGIONAL

At Stillwater, Okla.

Wichita State 11, Oklahoma State 7: Clinton McKeever's 10th-inning grand slam off the right-field foul pole sent the Shockers over the Cowboys (44-18) and on to a super regional. Wichita State (47-15) will play either Florida State or Tulane, getting a chance to host the super regional if the Green Wave win.

Oklahoma State 9, TCU 8: Jordy Mercer atoned for his pitching woes with his third home run of the game, a ninth-inning shot in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Cowboys past the Horned Frogs (44-19).

FULLERTON REGIONAL

At Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State fullerton 11, UCLA 8: Joel Weeks went 2 for 5 with three RBIs as the Titans (40-20) beat the Bruins (33-26) to set up today's rematch for the Fullerton Regional title.

Cal State Fullerton 4, Virginia 1: Cory Arbiso retired 15 consecutive batters in the first five innings to lead the Titans over the Cavaliers (39-23).

ATHENS REGIONAL

At Athens, Ga.

Georgia 8, Georgia Tech 0: Nick Montgomery pitched a four-hit shutout and Matt Olson, Matt Cerione and Rich Poythress hit two-run homers, powering the Bulldogs (38-22-1) past the Yellow Jackets (41-20). Georgia avoided elimination to force a final game against Georgia Tech tonight.

Georgia 14, Lipscomb 3: Rich Poythress had five RBIs and the Bulldogs stayed alive with a win over the Bison (33-30).

HOUSTON REGIONAL

AT HOUSTON

Rice 7, Texas 4: Jared Gayhart and Jimmy Comerota each drove in two runs to lead the Owls (45-13) in the championship game of the Houston regional. Rice, which beat the Longhorns (39-22) two out of three games in the regular season, will host a super regional this weekend.

Texas 4, St. John's 3: Austin Wood pitched 8 2/3 strong innings, Kyle Russell hit his third home run of the tournament and the Longhorns rallied for a win over the Red Storm (42-16).

COLLEGE STATION REGIONAL

AT COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS

Houston 4, Texas A&M 3: Houston's Jake Stewart singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Cougars (42-23) over the Aggies (45-17). The teams will play a regional title game today to decide who will face Rice in a super regional.

Houston 14, Illinois-Chicago 11, 11 innings: Chris Wallace's two-run double with one out in the top of the 11th helped lift the Cougars over the Flames (35-22).

STANFORD REGIONAL

At Stanford, Calif.

Stanford 13, Pepperdine 1: Toby Gerhart had a career-high four hits, including a home run, and Stanford forced an extra championship game by beating the Waves (38-20). The top-seeded Cardinal (36-22) will play Pepperdine again today for the regional championship.

Stanford 8, UC Davis 4: Brent Milleville hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning, sparking a five-run rally to help the Cardinal oust the Aggies (35-24).

TEMPE REGIONAL

At Tempe, Ariz.

Arizona State 12, Oklahoma 0: Kiel Roling went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, and Josh Satow threw seven-plus scoreless innings as fourth-ranked Arizona State beat the Sooners (36-26-1) to win the Tempe Regional. The Sun Devils (48-11) will host the winner of the Long Beach Regional in the super regionals. Arizona State won its three games by a combined score of 36-9.

Oklahoma 11, Vanderbilt 10: Aaron Baker homered with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Sooners eliminated 21st-ranked Vanderbilt (41-22).
