WASHINGTON — Two fitness trainers from Hawai`i were selected today to help staff a training center in Beijing for the 2008 Olympics.

Lisa Martin of Windward Active in Kane'ohe and Brandon Moriki of Honolulu Sport in Honolulu will be among 21 trainers staffing the Olympics training center during the Games Aug. 8- 24. All trainers are from 24 Hour Fitness, the official fitness center sponsor of the U.S. Olympics team.

"Our trainers have proven their ability to change lives within the walls of our clubs, now they have their minds set on helping our Olympians bring home the gold," said Carl Liebert, chief executive officer of 24 Hour Fitness headquartered in San Ramon, Calif.

The training center, located at Beijing Normal University, will be a base for the U.S. Olympic Committee during the games and will offer services, including training facilities. The staffers will manage the facility's operations and ensure that the U.S. athletes have functional state-of-the-art equipment and on-site support for their workouts.
