Beautiful, bizarre cemetery memorials featured in lecture at Mission Houses

Graveyard historian Nanette Napoleon will next week present a slide-show tour at Mission Houses Museum depicting some of the most compelling and bizarre tombstones found in Hawai'i and around the world. Among the objects incorporated into cemetery memorials are cars, soccer balls, lions, trains and pyramids. The slide-show will also feature some beautiful markers and mausoleums created by various sculptors and architects.

The free presentation is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 12 at Mission Houses Museum Reading Room, 553 S. King St. Admission is free, but space is limited. For Reservations are required. For additional information, call 531-0481 ext. 707.
