Plantation Village holds Obon festival Saturday
Hawaii's Plantation Village holds its annual Obon celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday.
There will be music, dancing and lighted paper lanterns. A food and craft tent will also be featured.
The night will begin with a blessing by Waipahu Hongwanji Rev. Jay Okamoto at 6.
Others taking part are the Hawaii Eisa Shinyuukai, Mililani Hongwanji, Yamada Dance Group, the Iwakuni Dance Group and the Aiea Taiheiji Yagura Gumi.
Admission and ample parking are free.
The village is located at 94-695 Waipahu Street near the old sugar mill.
