Soccer: US women stay atop world rankings

ZURICH, Switzerland — The United States kept its No. 1 spot in the FIFA women's rankings released Friday, with the top six remaining unchanged.
The Americans took over the No. 1 slot from two-time world champion Germany in March and is unbeaten in six games since then, including four Olympic qualifiers.
Germany stayed in second place in the quarterly rankings, followed by Sweden, Brazil, Norway and North Korea. Nigeria is the best-placed African nation at 25.
