Smash Mouth coming to Waikiki Shell Aug. 2

Multiplatinum-selling rock band Smash Mouth will perform at the Waikiki Shell on Aug. 2, with Go Jimmy Go as the opening act.

Tickets, $30 to $55, go on sale June 14. Smash Mouth has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and is best known for its 1997 No. 1 hit, "Walkin' In The Sun" and the 1999 release "All Star," which topped three national radio charts and hit number four on the Billboard Hot 100.

Widely recognized for their ultra catchy melodies, their albums include "Fush Yu Mang," "Astro Lounge," a self-titled third album, which produced "I'm A Believer," a popular track featured in the film "Shrek" and"All Star Smash Hits."

The rock band released its fifth CD, "Summer Girl," on their own label, Beautiful Bomb Records. The single "So Insane" is featured in the new film "Zoom," starring Tim Allen and Courtney Cox.

Verizon Wireless is a sponsor of the concert, and Verizon customers will be offered priority ticket purchase starting Monday at 9 a.m..

Discounted lawn tickets are available for military personnel for $25.
