ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Marshawn Lynch missed his second straight voluntary practice today because he was still recovering from eye surgery.

Wearing big sunglasses, Lynch said he had Lasik surgery on Friday and expects to be cleared to return to practice by Wednesday, when the Bills open a three-day mandatory minicamp.

The operation was done a day after Lynch was held out of a series of drills. He appeared to be poked in the eye during practice.

Lynch had no comment on whether he was concerned about the negative publicity he has received since being named the principal suspect in a hit-and-run accident involving his vehicle. Early on May 31, Lynch's 2008 Porsche SUV sped off after striking and injuring a woman crossing an intersection near Buffalo's downtown bar district.

Lynch has declined to speak to investigators since the accident, but his lawyer, Mike Caffery, is scheduled to meet with Erie County District Attorney Frank Clark on Monday afternoon.

Clark said last week that Lynch was in the SUV at the time of the accident and he presumes the player was behind the wheel. Police found the SUV at Lynch's driveway shortly after the accident. Investigators have also said they found a piece of evidence at the crash scene that links it to Lynch's vehicle.

The victim, identified as a 27-year-old woman from suburban Toronto, had a bruised hip and a cut that required seven stitches. She was treated and released from a hospital on the same day.
