South-shore surf on the rise again today
Advertiser Staff
A high-surf advisory remains in effect for south-facing shores on all islands, the National Weather Service said.
The south-shore surf was expected to drop a bit overnight to about 4 feet to 6 feet during the early part of the day today, forecasters said.
The surf is expected to build later today along south-facing shores, reaching advisory level heights of 5 feet to 8 feet by tonight, according to the forecast.
Elsewhere today look for surf of 2 feet to 4 feet along east-facing shores; 2 feet or less along north-facing shores and 2 feet to 4 feet along west-facing shores.
The current south swell is expected to linger through the middle of next week. A long-period, 3-foot south swell tonight and Sunday will gradually shorten in period through Wednesday.
