Tennis: Davydenko, Robredo reach Warsaw final
WARSAW, Poland — Top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko and second-seeded Tommy Robredo reached the final at the Warsaw Open with straight-set victories today.
Davydenko beat the unseeded Fabio Fognini 6-2, 6-3, while Robredo ousted Juan Monaco 6-4, 6-4.
Davydenko, who won here in 2006, jumped out to a 5-1 lead and only lost five points on his serve in the first set. He then broke Fognini to take a 3-2 lead in the second, and never faced a break point in the set.
Defending champion Robredo faced 11 breakpoints against Monaco, saving all but one to reach his first ATP Tour final of the year.
