Father's Day charity breakfast is today

Advertiser Staff

Hawaii's oldest and largest pancake breakfast for charity is being put on from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. this morning by the Hawaii Kai Lions Club.

The traditional charity breakfast at Kaiser High School Cafeteria not only feeds dad, it also raises money to fund community projects such as vision testing for pre-school children; repair projects for schools and junior officer programs.

Tickets are $6.

The Lions Club expects to serve more than 3,500 pancake breakfasts in it's 34th year of holding the event. Some other fun facts to share with your keiki — or keiki can share with dad:

— 7,500 eggs will be served

— 14,400 sausage links

— 540 pounds of pancake mix

— 6,344 pats of butter

— 3,600 shots of maple syrup.
