A 26-year-old man with a felony record was arrested last night on suspicion of possessing a firearm and ammunition.

The suspect was arrested at 8:40 p.m. after a shooting incident earlier in the day at a residence in the Makiki area.

Later in the evening, an anonymous caller reported the suspect was back in the area. Police were able locate him in a vehicle and further investigation led to discovery of a handgun.The suspect was then placed under arrest for investigation of firearm-related offenses.
