No tsunami threat after 3.7 quake hits Big Island

KOHALA, Hawai'i — Big Island emergency officials report that a magnitude-3.7 earthquake has struck near Kiholo Bay.
Hawai'i County Civil Defense says that the earthquake occurred around 2 p.m. It wasn't large enough to cause a tsunami.
The earthquake could cause aftershocks.
If residents feel a quake, they should check for damage to utility connections of gas, water and power afterward.
