Oahu electric customers will receive refund

The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission has approved a refund for O'ahu electric customers.
The amount of the refund will vary based on factors including electricity usage. The company says a residential household using 600 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month will receive a refund of about $19.
The refunds will appear as credits on bills sent out starting June 20.
The company says the refund reflects a change in calculating methods that resulted in a lower rate increase in 2005. The total refund amounts to nearly $17 million.
