INDIANAPOLIS — Christina Loukas has become the second member of the U.S. diving team for the Beijing Games, winning the 3-meter springboard at the Olympic trials.
Loukas, a 22-year-old from Riverwoods, Ill., backed up the promise she showed with a fourth-place finish at the World Cup in China this year. She earned a return trip to Beijing with 1092.10 points, well ahead of runner-up Nancilea Foster (1002.85) today.
Troy Dumais made the team earlier Saturday by winning the men's 3-meter. In a change from past years, the second spot for each event will be picked at a selection camp in Knoxville, Tenn., next month.
