Police yesterday charged Romulo E. Lomboy, 57, with methamphetamine trafficking and other drug counts in connection with a drug bust last week in Kalihi.

Police said the Thursday night drug bust on Ahonui Street netted three pounds of crystal methamphetamine, one of the biggest busts they had seen in years.

Police arrested Lomboy around 6:20 p.m. Thursday outside the home where he was a tenant at 1545 Ahonui St.

In addition to the three pounds of ice — said to be worth about $230,000 — police also recovered jewelry and $3,000 in cash.
