It's raining cats (looking for homes) and dogs (in costumes) this weekend at two furry events.

CANINE CAPERS

Today's Doggie Decadence Fashion Show woofs it up as part of the first anniversary celebration of Pet Spot at Ward Warehouse.

The fashion show has two categories — for canines under 70 pounds and those more than 70 pounds.

The dogs strut their stuff at noon on the "dogwalk" at the Ward Warehouse stage; the winners will be judged by audience applause.

Does your dog wolf down his dinner? The "Is Your Dog a Pig?" contest is for you — that is, for your four-legged pal. The dogs who eat the quickest in the same categories as above win prizes.

Don't have a dog, but want one? There's a free purebred puppy giveaway, too, with the winner announced at 3 p.m.

The celebration takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Ward Warehouse stage. Free admission. 591-1990.

FELINE FANCIES

Meow Madness, a celebration of all things cat-related, happens tomorrow at the Hawaiian Humane Society, where June is Love-a-Cat month.

The event includes a training demonstration for cats; a cat costume contest; a toy-making workshop; and a household cat show. Felines will be judged on form, coat and agility, and the winner will earn the title Best Cat of the year. Like we said: Meow!

Don't have a cat, but want one? How about two? You can adopt a pair — six months and older — for the price of one through June.

Feline frenzy hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow, 2700 Wai'alae Ave. Free admission. 946-2187, www.hawaiianhumane.org.
