KAHULUI, Maui — A&B Properties Inc. on Monday will launch office condominium sales starting at $390,000 for Phase I of the new mixed-use Kahului Town Center.

The two buildings in Phase I will total 86,600 square feet and be entirely commercial. Fee-simple commercial condominium units starting at 700 square feet on the second and third floors will be offered, the company said.

A total of 28,000 square feet of retail space is for lease on the ground floor.

Construction on Phase I is expected to start in mid-summer, once county permits are obtained, with units ready for occupancy in late 2009, according to A&B Properties.

Project bids will be sought in late spring.

Kahului Town Center is being planned as a "walkable" shopping, dining and residential community on 19 acres close to retail, office, medical, financial and educational sites, and to the Kahului waterfront.

Phase II is expected to have residential units completed by mid-2011.
