DETROIT — Perry Watson resigned today as basketball coach at Detroit after 15 seasons.
He was on indefinite leave of absence since Jan. 7 for medical reasons.
Associate head coach Kevin Mondro guided the Titans in Watson's absence. The Titans' season ended Tuesday night with a 60-37 loss at Wright State in the first round of the Horizon League tournament.
Watson ranks second in school history in wins with a 258-185 record. His teams claimed three conference championships.
He joined the Titans in 1993 after two years as the top assistant at Michigan.
