NFL: Cardinals, Warner looking at two-year extension

Kurt Warner may get to play quite awhile longer.
The 36-year-old quarterback, who is coming off a solid season in replacing the injured Matt Leinart, could be in position to sign a two-year contract extension.
"We've talked about it conceptually," Warner's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said of his talks with the Cardinals. But first, "We're going to let a week of free agency go by and settle down."
Warner has one year left on his contract at $4 million ($5 million on the salary cap).
He'd already suggested he'd like to play two more additional seasons, and — though he wants to start — has indicated he'd accept a backup role to Leinart.
Warner made $1 million in incentive bonuses last season and narrowly missed on another for an additional $500,000.
"He's having a wonderful time," Bartelstein said. In addition, "He thinks the team is headed in the right direction. He enjoys the coaching staff."
