Konawaena High School assault prompts two arrests

HILO, Hawai'i — Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with felony assault after an attack at Konawaena High School on the Big Island yesterday left a student with a broken facial bone.
Police were called to the school because of a fight at shortly before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, and were told a 15-year-old boy had been attacked by the two 16-year-old youths.
The 15-year old suffered a fractured eye orbital, and was treated at Kona Community Hospital for the injury.
Police charged the two 16-year-olds with second-degree assault, and released them to their parents.
