The top-ranked Brigham Young-Hawai'i women's tennis team swept Chaminade, 9-0, yesterday to extend its winning streak to 67 matches.

Elwen Li won her singles match 6-0, 6-0 and teamed with Maggie Deng to win their doubles match 8-2 as the Seasiders won for the 300th time in their last 302 matches to improve to 7-0 on the season.


SOFTBALL

KESSELL, MUSQUIZ PITCH HPU BY GRAND CANYON

Courtney Kessell and Sherise Musquiz each pitched five-hit complete games as Hawai'i Pacific swept Grand Canyon, 5-1 and 3-1, yesterday in a softball doubleheader at HPU Field.

The Sea Warriors improved to 10-0, while the Antelopes fell to 9-10-1.

Kessell (5-0) struck out five and walked one in the opener. Anuhea Young hit a three-run homer, and Ciera Senas and Krystal Plunkett each had two hits for HPU.

Musquiz (5-0) struck out six and walked one in the second game. Plunkett hit a two-run homer and Nicole Riviera a run-scoring single for HPU.

Tan Holtorf had three hits and one RBI in the doubleheader for Grand Canyon.


BASEBALL

ASHER HELPS HPU ROUT GRAND CANYON, 14-2

Aaron Asher had three hits and five RBIs as Hawai'i Pacific thumped Grand Canyon, 14-2, last night at Hans L'Orange Field.

Nicko Garibay and Paul Nishimura each had three hits as the Sea Warriors (12-6) pounded four pitchers for 18 hits.

Asher hit a sacrifice fly in the first, a two-run homer in the fourth and a two-run double in the fifth.

Kaimi Mead (3-0) spaced six hits and gave up one unearned run while striking out three and walking none. Aaron Kent, Brandon Muser and Royce Ebesu each pitched an inning and combined for six strikeouts.

Dan Colella and Jeff Mutchler drove in runs for Grand Canyon (7-13).
