Washington rallies past UH in softball, 3-2

Alyson McWherter singled down the left-field line to drive in pinch runner Jessica Ventoza in the bottom of the seventh inning to give No. 22 Washington a 3-2 victory over No. 15 Hawai'i today in the Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Washington is 13-6-1. UH, which plays a second game against Idaho State today, dropped to 15-6.

UH took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Clare Warwick was hit by pitch and went to second on sacrifice by Kaulana Gould. Kate Robinson singled sending Warwick to third. Warwick scored when Robinson was caught stealing.

Washington took 2-1 lead in bottom of the sixth when McWherter doubled and later scored on a catcher's interference, and Bailey Stenson singled and scored on a wild pitch.

The Rainbows tied it when Malamaisaua Manuma scored on a sacrifice fly by Tanisha Milca in the top of the seventh.
