More syringes reported at Oneula Beach Park

The state Department of Health is trying to trace the origin of syringes that have been washing ashore at Hau Bush, also known as One'ula Beach Park in 'Ewa Beach.
The first of the syringes were discovered last week, and the city Division of Road Maintenance cleaned up the area starting Wednesday.
But a resident reported finding more syringes since then, including this morning.
Janice Okubo, Department of Health spokesperson, said she was not aware of the new discoveries today. The department is trying to determine whether numbers on the syringes can be traced to a manufacturer.
Residents are asked to call the department's Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response Office at 586-4249 if any more needles are found.
