A flatbed truck carrying drywall overturned and spilled its load near the intersection of Maluhia Road and Ala Kinoiki in Koloa on Kaua'i at around 2:45 yesterday afternoon.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident and no one was injured.

According to a preliminary report, the driver, a Kauai Commercial Company employee, was making a left turn onto Ala Kinoiki from Maluhia Road when he lost control of the company truck. He skidded onto the shoulder, hitting a guardrail and crashing through a pasture fence. The truck then flipped on its side in the pasture and spilled its load about 50 to 60 feet past the intersection.

Police believe that speed may have been a factor in this incident.
