The John Butler Trio, led by a Californian who moved to Australia to launch a musical career, will perform at 8 p.m. April 9 at Pipeline Cafe.

Butler embraces a a sound that fuses influences from Celtic folk, Indian ragas, and traditional reggae and blues.
