The City and County of Honolulu, through its Oahu Workforce Investment Board, is seeking nonprofit and for-profit agencies to provide innovative training for disadvantaged youth, ages 14 to 21, to prepare them for employment in high-growth, high-demand industries, college or advanced vocational training.

"The City and County of Honolulu recognizes that public-private training partnerships are vital to producing a pipeline of job-ready individuals to serve the needs of businesses and to offering youth pathways to careers in high-growth, high-demand industries," Mayor Mufi Hannemann said. "These partnerships will provide youth with experience, education and skills to ensure that they are equipped to enter college and career paths that can lead to self-sufficiency."

Applications to be considered for selection to be placed on an eligibility list are available at www4.honolulu.gov/bfspurchasingbids/main/vueOpenBids.asp?sType=G.

The selection of vendors will be in accordance with a request for proposals for qualified vendors, in accordance with Section 103D-102(b)(4), Hawaii Revised Statutes.
