Hawaiian Telcom to use keiki art in its Yellow Pages

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages will once again feature art by O'ahu children in its 2008-2009 O'ahu directory.

The company's O'ahu Keiki Art Contest is open to all children in kindergarten through 12th grade. One hundred pieces of art will be selected for placement throughout the directory.

Students will be asked to illustrate this year's theme, "Why I Love Hawai'i," through their art. First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded in four categories: Kindergarten to second grade, third to fifth grade, sixth to eighth grade, and ninth to 12th grade. First-place winners will receive $250, second-place $150 and third-place $75. In addition, each school with a first-place winner will receive $500. All students participating in the contest will also be entered into a grand prize drawing for a chance to win a Nintendo DS Lite from Toys n' Joys.

The following media can be used: color pens, pencils, crayons, chalk, watercolor or acrylic. The finished product should be dark enough to be easily scanned. Entries must be postmarked by April 18, 2008, and mailed to: Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages, Keiki Art Contest, c/o Communications Pacific, 745 Fort St., Penthouse, Honolulu, HI 96813. For entry forms and templates, visit www.HTYellowPages.com, or call Stephanie Ortega at 543-3548.
