LOS ANGELES — Rookie Nick Fazekas signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers for the remainder of the season today.
The 6-foot-11 forward from Nevada signed a 10-day contract with the team Feb. 27 and a second such agreement March 8. He is averaging 2.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 9.3 minutes per game and had career-highs of 11 points and seven rebounds in a 119-109 overtime loss at Washington last Saturday.
Dallas made Fazekas the 34th overall selection in last summer's NBA draft, and he played briefly in four games for the Mavericks. The three-time Western Athletic Conference player of the year averaged 19.1 points and 10 rebounds in 28 games for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League before joining the Clippers.
