Fines, restitution payments totaled $18,100 in February

The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and its boards and commissions overseeing professions and vocations handed out $14,100 in fines during February, while ordering another $4,000 in restitution.
The following people and businesses were the subject of actions by the boards and commissions:
Harriette A. Underwood agreed to a voluntary suspension of her nursing license for three years and a $1,000 fine by the Board of Nursing.
John P. Gallagher voluntarily surrendered his registered nurse and APRN licenses to the Board of Nursing.
John Yeh agreed to a voluntary revocation of his license to the Mortgage Brokers and Solicitors Program, and a voluntary revocation of license to the Real Estate Commission.
Meridian Financial Network Inc. and Neysa K. Park were fined $1,000 by the Mortgage Brokers and Solicitors Program and agreed to remove videos from the Internet offering a referral commission. They also were ordered to stop distributing information offering payments prohibited by the Real Estate Settlement Practices Act.
Michael J.W. Lopez was fined $2,500 by the Real Estate Commission.
Maika'i & Associates Inc., Heidi M. Venable, and Michele M. Foster were ordered to pay $4,000 in restitution and a $3,500 fine by the Real Estate Commission.
Verne A. Wood and Puna Water Services Inc., dba Waterworks, were fined $600 by the Contractors License Board.
Nicholas T. Wagner had his license suspended for a year and was fined $2,000 by the Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects.
Michael H. Lee, M.D., was fined $500 by the Board of Medical Examiners.
Irwin Nemeth, D.O., was reprimanded and fined $3,000 by the Board of Medical Examiners.
Peter N. Brawn, M.D., had his license revoked by the Board of Medical Examiners.
