Ron Mizutani, veteran KHON2 news anchor and reporter, will return to the KHON2 news desk beginning Monday, to co-anchor the 5 p.m. news with Tannya Joaquin.

It will be a reunion.

"It is great to have Ron and Tannya anchoring together again on Hawaii at Five," said Lori Silva, KHON2 news director. "This gives Ron an opportunity to showcase his strong reporting skills as well."

Mizutani had been with Channel 2 for 22 years but resigned last August to take a position as vice president of corporate communications at Hawaiian Telcom and resigned from that position in January, citing personal reasons.

In addition, longtime reporter and anchor Jai Cunningham will join the morning news team in April, after he returns from a vacation. The morning crew features Kirk Matthews, Kathy Muneno, Manolo Morales and Trini Kaopuiki.
