Advertiser Staff
The Nisei Veterans Memorial Center recently received $750,000 in state support for its education building, which will house archives containing an extensive collection of books, oral histories, family albums, photographs and letters from the World War II era.
The 2,100-square-foot building also will include a workroom with counterspace for researchers to view documents and artifacts. The space will double as a classroom to host educational programs.
The Nisei Veterans Memorial Center completed its intergenerational facility in 2006, with an adult daycare center and preschool, and the education building is the final construction project planned.
