Baseball: Tigers place OF Granderson on 15-day DL
Associated Press
DETROIT — Detroit Tigers center fielder Curtis Granderson was placed on the 15-day disabled list today and will miss opening day.
A finger on his right hand was broken when he was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning of Saturday's rain-shortened game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Granderson had a baseball-best 23 triples to go along with 38 doubles, 23 homers and 26 stolen bases last year.
He's hitting .306 with eight RBIs in 15 games this spring.
