Parker McLachlin finishes tied for 12th at Zurich Open
Honolulu's Parker McLachlin shot a 1-under-par 71 today to finish tied for 12th, six strokes behind winner Andres Romero, in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at the TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La.
McLachlin, a Punahou alum, finished at 7-under 281 and earned $110,825. Romero shot a 68 to hold off Peter Leonard (69) by a shot for the $1.1 million winner's check.
Kane'ohe's Dean Wilson shot a 71 and finished tied for 42nd at 285. Wilson, who led after the first round, earned $19,949.
McLachlin got to 3 under in the final round with birdies on Nos. 2, 5, 8 and 11 and a bogey on No. 3. He finished with bogeys on No. 14 and 18.
Wilson, Castle High alum, was at 2 under after 11 holes, but went to even after a double-bogey on No. 12. He finished with a birdie on fine par-5 final hole.
