Kaiser Permanente completes outpatient records project

Kaiser Permanente said its completed the implementation of an electronic health record project for outpatients that began four years ago in Hawai'i and now covers 8.7 million members in nine states and the District of Columbia.
Kaiser said its 13,000 physicians now have electronic access to patient medical records at all of its 421 medical offices and clinics. The health plan said its HealthConnect electronic health records are helping increase the efficiency of outpatient care and that its in the process of installing the system for inpatients at its hospitals.
