Kapalua wildfire contained; 60 acres burned

Maui firefighters declared a Kapalua wildfire fueled by 10 to 25 mph winds contained at 7 p.m. after a four-hour battle today.
The fire burned about 60 acres above Pineapple Hill.
Two helicopters and 20 firefighters from seven companies fought the fire with assistance of heavy equipment from Goodfellow Brothers and Maui Land and Pine, which were used to create firebreaks.
Firefighters plan to monitor the situation overnight. The fire did not threaten homes.
