28 arrested for drunk driving on Big Island

Police on the Big Island arrested 28 motorists for drunk driving last week.
Four of the drivers were involved in a traffic crash. Four were under the age of 21.
So far this year there have been 474 DUI arrests compared with 441 during the same period last year, an increase of 7 percent.
Major accidents on the Big Island, however, are down 16 percent from a year ago. There have been 641 major accidents so far this year compared with 759 during the same period last year.
