$100,000 grant to fund new Shriners hospital
Shriners Hospital for Children in Honolulu has received a $100,000 grant from the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation.
The funds will go to the new Shriners hospital, under construction. The $73 million, state-of-the-art facility on Punahou Street is set to be completed in 2010.
"Shriners Hospitals for Children in Honolulu is a tremendous asset to our community and to people from and around the Pacific Rim," said A&B Foundation President Meredith Ching. "We are pleased to help Shriners Hospitals take a major step forward, with this new medical facility, to enable it to expand its reach and further its mission."
Since 1923, Shriners Hospitals for Children in Honolulu has offered medical care specializing in pediatric orthopedics, post-burn care and spinal cord injuries to more than 25,000 children at no charge to the patient or family.
