Waipahu's Brian Viloria is 21-2 in his career, including 2-0 in 2008. "The plan was to keep Brian active this year, and this will be his third fight in five months," manager Gary Gittelsohn said.

In his next move to regain a world boxing championship, Waipahu's Brian Viloria will be fighting outside of the United States for the first time in his professional career on Saturday.

Viloria will face Mexico's Salvador Montes in a non-title bout at Aguascalientes, Mexico.

"Brian is in world championship form," said his manager, Gary Gittelsohn. "But I still want to give him rounds against a tough opponent and give him a chance to work on some new things."

The bout will be on the undercard of the "Latin Fury 4" card. The main bouts will be televised nationally on pay-per-view, but Viloria's bout is not expected to be televised.

"That's by our choice," Gittelsohn said. "I want Brian to fly under the radar for a little while."

Viloria is 21-2, including 2-0 in 2008. His last bout was an eight-round unanimous decision victory over Cesar Lopez in February.

"The plan was to keep Brian active this year, and this will be his third fight in five months," Gittelsohn said.

Montes is a relative unknown outside of Mexico, with a professional record of 12-5.

The weight limit for the bout will be 113 pounds, and it is scheduled for 10 rounds. Gittelsohn said Viloria's performance will determine the next step.

"We may take one more (tune-up) fight, or we may go straight for a championship bout," Gittelsohn said.

Viloria, 27, won the WBC light flyweight world championship in 2005, but lost it in 2006.
