Radford boys set state record in 4x100 relay

Radford's boys set a state record in the 4x100 meter relay yesterday in the trials of the Island Movers Track & Field Boys and Girls Championships at Mililani.

Radford's team of Donniqtay Campbell, Jonathan Atangan, Ikaika Kamaka and Christopher Rainey posted a time of 42.53 to break the previous record of 42.78 set by Waimea in 2005.

Rainey also posted wins in the 100 (11.00) and 200 (22.44).

Multiple winners in the boys individual events were: Saint Louis' Trevor Mau in the triple jump (43 feet, 3 1/3 inches) and high jump (5-10), and Maryknoll's Javen Correa in the 110 hurdles (15.01) and 300 hurdles (39.89).

In the girls competition, Kalani's Yasmina Taketa won the long jump (17-9 3/4) and 100 (12.66), Seabury Hall's Kailea Tracy-Visintainer captured the 400 (57.67) and 200 (25.93), and Kahuku's Zhane Santiago took the triple jump (35-7) and 100 hurdles (15.62).

The finals will be held today at Mililani. Field events start at 3 p.m.; running events start at 5:40 p.m.
