30 arrested for DUI on Big Island

Big Island police arrested 30 motorists for drunk driving last week.
Five of the drivers were involved in traffic crashes and two were under the age of 21.
So far this year, there have been 540 DUI arrests compared with 473 during the same period last year, an increase of 14 percent.
DUI roadblocks and patrols continue on the Big Island, where the 708 major accidents so far this year are a 14 percent drop from the 818 during the same period last year.
