Island Pacific Academy gets grants for projects
Kapolei's Island Pacific Academy has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Atherton Family Foundation for its campaign to build the school's athletic and performing arts center.
The 43,000-square-foot facility is expected to include a gymnasium, theater, music rooms, classrooms, weight room, volunteer rooms and office space. The total cost of the project is about $18 million.
The Atherton Family Foundation is one of the largest, private grant institutions in Hawai'i devoted to the support of charitable activities.
In an unrelated development, the Hawaii Community Foundation has awarded IPA an organizational capacity building grant of $40,000 to help the school's counseling services program.
