Businesses, individuals fined total $14,000 in April; some disciplined

The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and its boards and commissions overseeing professions and vocations handed out $14,000 in fines and took several disciplinary actions in April.

The following actions were taken:

  • Dr. Claude W. Zeifman was fined $500 by the Board of Medical Examiners.

  • Dr. Philip Gustave Martin was put on probation for a minimum of five years and fined $1,000 by the Board of Medical Examiners.

  • Dr. Gregory Paul Thibault was put on probation for six months and fined $5,000 by the Board of Medical Examiners.

  • Dr. Chih-Cheng Frank Chen was put on probation for three months and fined $1,000 by the Board of Medical Examiners.

  • RX Direct Inc. was fined $500 by the Board of Pharmacy.

  • Prime Therapeutics LLC, doing business as Prime Mail Pharmacy Services, was fined $500 by the Board of Pharmacy.

  • Sang Doo Choi, doing business as Holo Holo Auto, agreed to a voluntary license revocation by the Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board.

  • Arthur G. Crabtree had his license revoked by the Real Estate Commission.

  • Julianna Garris, Patricia Choi and Patricia Choi Realty were fined by the Real Estate Commission; Garris paid a $3,000 fine, while Patricia Choi and Patricia Choi Realty paid a $1,000 fine.

  • Sonia R. Preuss had her license revoked by the Board of Nursing.

  • UK Holding Corp., doing business as Equity Funding Group, and Brian S. Kobayashi surrendered their licenses and agreed not to reapply for licenses with the Mortgage Broker and Solicitor Program.

  • Sammy Ok Kim, doing business as TLC Massage Therapist, was fined $1,000 by the Board of Massage Therapy.

  • Tuoi T. Pham and Tuoi T. Pham Hair Styling LLC were fined $500 by the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
