College football: Utah State QB to transfer to BYU
Associated Press
LOGAN, Utah — Quarterback Riley Nelson is planning to transfer from Utah State to Brigham Young when he gets back from his church mission in Spain.
Nelson's father, Keith, says his son gave it a lot of thought and decided he wants to play for BYU when he comes home.
Nelson is a Logan native who led Utah State to its only win of 2006 when he made his starting debut as a freshman against Fresno State. He completed 21 of 24 passes in one game and had six touchdown passes in the season.
Keith Nelson says his son will enroll at BYU when he gets home and will be playing with the Cougars next fall.
