Traffic diverted on H-1 approaching Middle Street

Traffic is being rerouted off the H-1 freeway just before Middle Street in the west-bound direction, the Honolulu Police Department is reporting.
A truck apparently clipped a portion of the Gulick Street overpass. Traffic is being rerouted as road crews clean the debris, police said.
Bridge inspectors have examined the Gulick Street overpass and no significant damage was found, said Derek Inoshita, a spokesman with the state Department of Transportation. Crews are checking other overpasses, he said.
