Colleges select 12 from Hawaii

Twelve Hawai'i students are among the 2,800 winners of college-sponsored scholarships announced this week by the National Merit Scholarship Corp.
These awards are worth up to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. The winners are:
Stacey Torigoe of Waiakea High School in Hilo, Westmont College Scholarship.
Maegan Doi of 'Iolani School, Carleton College Scholarship.
Derek Feinberg of 'Iolani School, Arizona State University Scholarship.
Ryan Gomoto of 'Iolani School, University of Southern California Scholarship.
Allison Hasegawa of 'Iolani School, Colorado College Scholarship.
Kimberlee Hashiba of 'Iolani School, Northwestern University Scholarship.
Kate Ikehara of 'Iolani School, University of Southern California Scholarship.
Colleen Lundy of 'Iolani School, Arizona State University Scholarship.
Allyson Mizumoto-Gitter of Punahou School, Willamette University Scholarship.
Elizabeth Murphy of 'Iolani School, Carleton College Scholarship.
Peter Meyer of Seabury Hall, Claremont McKenna College Scholarship.
Lydia Lund of Seabury Hall, Whitman College Scholarship.
