Rescue personnel get new cardiac care tool

Advertiser Staff

City paramedics and The Queen's Medical Center have teamed up to electronically send important medical information to doctors even as cardiac patients are en route to the hospital.

Since minutes count, the pre-hospital transmission directly to the emergency department is another tool available to medical personnel caring for cardiac patients, said Dr. Elizabeth Char, city Emergency Services Department director.

Queen's is the first hospital to partner with the city.
