The 50th State Fair, continuing for another few weekends at Aloha Stadium, can be counted on for guilty-pleasure (yes, greasy) food and thrilling rides. But don't forget: It also has a solid reputation for introducing up-and-coming stars.

Pop princess Rihanna performed at the fair before she was sharing her umbrella, and Nick Cannon made an appearance long before he became Mr. Mariah Carey.

This year, Soulja Boy (June 6-7) and dance masters Kaba Modern (June 22) make their EK Fernandez debut.

Not to be outdone by the celeb lineup, Cirque Equinox will dazzle, the family of Maltese trapezists will fly and Hedrick's Racing Pigs will bring home the bacon.

The fair continues today through Sunday and every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through June 22. It is also open Thursday.

The fair opens at 6 p.m. Fridays and Thursday; it opens at noon on Saturdays and Sundays.

Admission is $3 from noon to 6 p.m., $5 thereafter. Admission is free for those under 40 inches tall.

Wristbands are available for $23 and include admission and unlimited rides during the following hours: noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays, noon to closing Sundays and 6 p.m. to closing on Thursday.
