Police say hammer-wielding dad smashed laptop

Advertiser Staff

A father who allegedly smashed his daughter's computer with a hammer was released on $1,000 bail today after being arrested by police.

Police said the 'Aiea man was arguing with his 17-year-old daughter earlier in the week over the use of her laptop computer when he banged it with the hammer and also hit his daughter.

He surrendered to police Friday after the daughter reported the incident to school authorities. Police said she was not seriously injured.

The father was charged with abuse of a household member.
